  • Creating novel combinations of LLM, NLP, and ASR to achieve performance that surpasses the state of the art in morphological segmentation and interlinear glossing
  • Designing and conducting suites of experiments for determining which methods and models are most suitable for the task under varying circumstances such as the amount of data available for training
  • Assisting in a human-in-the-loop process of corpus creation for three languages of Mexico (Mixtec, Totonac, and Nahuatl), resulting in archival-quality linguistic documentation
  • Formulating hypothesis about best models to apply to the task
  • Meeting with the Principal Investigator twice per week to discuss progress and plans
  • Keeping detailed notes on weekly progress
  • Keeping project resources organized in appropriate repositories
  • Inventing new modelling techniques
  • Carrying out experiments where various models are applied to data
  •  Reporting results of experiments.
