Position Description The Associate Consultant, Australia is an individual with experience in a nonprofit or educational setting who will provide project management, analysis and writing, production of client presentations, marketing, communications and administrative support to our Australian-based consultants. The Associate Consultant, Australia works across sectors, which may include universities, residential colleges, independent schools, health and arts organisations primarily across Australia and the Asia-Pacific. The individual will report to the Managing Director, Australia (based in Sydney) and work closely with consultants based across the country, as an essential team member, committed to enabling our clients to be successful in their philanthropic pursuits. This position offers career advancement and opportunities for growth and mentorship from experienced consulting professionals, across the diverse Marts&Lundy network. The successful candidate will collaborate broadly across the firm to provide consistent reporting, data management, project management and participation in business development activities. This is a remote position, and the successful applicant will work from their home office, based in either Sydney or Melbourne, with regular engagement with US-based colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
Team Support, Reporting and Project Management
Work closely with the Senior Consultant & Managing Director, Australia on a range of responsibilities, including business development, strategic planning, and special projects.
Coordinate monthly team meetings and participate in recurring firm meetings organised from the US.
Produce monthly internal activity reports and weekly data input for clients, projects.
Coordinate business development opportunities, in close consultation with members of the Australian-based team, and coordinate pipeline activities.
Work closely with key departments in the firm, including Client Relations, Marketing & Communications, Finance, Philanthropic Insights and Analytics, to ensure a coordinated approach.
Represent the firm on occasion at a variety of conferences, client visits, both nationally and from time to time, internationally.
Take a pro-active approach towards providing general support to the Australian team.
Business Development and Account Management
Working closely with the Senior Consultant & Managing Director, Australia and team members, pursue strategies for continued growth in our region.
Provide general support to Senior Consultants and Consulting Partners (Team Leads) in the overall management of clients, as required.
Manage proposals and presentations to acquire new business, in coordination with appropriate consultants and Client Relations.
Work closely with the Marketing & Communications department on all Australian-based content development and updates.
Client Work: Campaign Planning and Assessments
In consultation with the Team Lead, develop project timelines, key activities and deliverables.
Review collateral, materials, data and help to coordinate key activities.
Coordinate with client and consultant(s) to schedule interviews, meetings and to ensure appropriate research and logistical support for interviews.
Compile notes/data and prepare preliminary draft reports; convene conference calls with interviewing consultant(s), as needed.
In consultation with the Team Lead, prepare or support the preparation of the final report(s) in appropriate formats.
Coordinate with client and consultant(s) to schedule interviews and ensure that consultants have appropriate background information and logistical support.
In consultation with the Team Lead, prepare or support the preparation of the final report(s) in appropriate format.
After data/materials review and interviews are completed, compile notes/data and prepare preliminary draft reports.
In consultation with the Team Lead, prepare or support the preparation of the final report(s) in appropriate format.
Informal benchmarking and/or other client data requests, as required.
Support special studies conducted by Marts&Lundy and members of the firm.
Organise, analyse, and synthesise data and trends for organisational assessments (budgets, historical fundraising data, staffing, and campaign reports) and for feasibility studies.

Bachelor’s degree required.
