Our work depends on Software Developer Associate joining our team to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by disseminating data to researchers who are studying ways to improve the quality and reduce the cost of care provided to chronically ill Medicare beneficiaries.

HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER ASSOCIATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
  • Support data warehouse architecture development across one or more data warehouse solutions (such as Snowflake).
  • Analyze and resolve complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
  • Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
  • Maintain data documentation on processes and procedures.
  • Track multiple data feeds, business rules, and statuses to ensure management receives accurate data and information.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Experience with ETL and batch processes  using SQL, Python and/or dedicated tools such as Apache Spark.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases (such as MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server) and knowledge of SQL. 
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and analytics platforms such as Databricks.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing architectures (such as Kimball and Inmon) and cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon Redshift,
  • Excellent knowledge of scripting and programming languages for data manipulation and transformation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders, documenting ETL processes, and explaining technical details clearly.
