Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to play a pivotal role in our client’s home health agency. In this dynamic position, you’ll be at the heart of daily operations, bridging the gap between administrative efficiency and quality patient care. You’ll have the opportunity to utilize your medical knowledge and administrative skills to ensure smooth agency functioning, coordinate patient care, manage insurance processes, and drive community outreach initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Serve as the operational backbone of the agency, overseeing daily administrative functions and supporting key leadership roles
  • Act as the primary point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies, managing communication via phone, email, and mail
  • Utilize Access Home Health Software to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations
  • Coordinate insurance processes, including eligibility checks, authorizations, and follow-ups with insurance companies and doctors’ offices
  • Drive community engagement by assisting with outreach activities and managing social media presence to generate leads
  • Contribute to the agency’s growth by conducting online research and supporting grant bidding processes on government platforms
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, including Medicare, Medicaid, and MassHealth systems
  • Collaborate with the administrator and director of nursing to streamline processes and improve overall agency efficiency



Requirements
  • Proven experience of 2-3 years in a medical assistant or similar role within a healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in home health management software, with specific experience in Axxess Home Health Software highly desired
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • In-depth understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and MassHealth systems
  • Familiarity with insurance credentialing processes and healthcare regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict patient confidentiality
  • Passion for community health and a commitment to improving patient care outcomes
