The successful candidate will be a member of the EMS Relationship Management Team supporting Leaders with commercial aspects of Ciena’s Contract Manufacturers to coordinate Sourcing Strategies, RFQs, claim mitigation in coordination with Supply Chain Operations, Product Line Management, Design and others with the objective of enabling supply chain performance, agility and best in class customer delivery performance.  

How You Will Contribute:

  • Support commercial relationships with EMS partners
  • Develop, recommend and support EMS strategies to support Ciena product lines, and generate corresponding business cases to support lowest end-to-end lowest total cost of ownership and mitigation of potential geo-political or supply chain risks
  • Support development of thorough RFQ packages. Gather and analyze bids and partner with Commercial Leader to generate and present the summaries
  • Support/Analyze all claims resolution (Ciena’s or Contract manufacturers), initiate claims and provide guidance and resolve issues
  • Review monthly Vendor Drive and identify cost reductions opportunities and ensure alignment with contract Manufacturer.
  • Provide supporting data for Ops reviews, quarterly business reviews and ad-hoc reporting requirements
  • Provide input to budget and outlook for all product lines, ensure cost reductions commitments are fully aligned
  • Support contractual amendments and updates
  • Maintain Contract Manufacturer Playbooks and quarterly service surveys
  • Candidate must foster strong working relationships with Contract Manufacturers and internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Product Line Management & Design) to maintain best in class support and supply to Ciena. 
  • Candidate must enable frequent communications with partners to ensure constant alignment of priorities between the supplier and Ciena while addressing any concerns from a pricing, support, quality and service level.
  • Coordinate/support regular Supplier business reviews for working operational teams and with executives to drive continuous improvement and ensure executive strategic alignment.

  • Ability to influence and foster strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Confidently works well under pressure with strong time management disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work will employees at all levels throughout the organization
  • Solid finance knowledge
  • Excellent Communication (both oral and written) in English
  • Potential to assume additional responsibilities and progress towards a Commercial Leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering. 
  • Experience with working with contract manufactures across the globe
  • Experienced in generating content for and presenting to executive audiences
  • Advance Microsoft suite knowledge including PPT, Excel, and Power BI

Pay Range: $62,800 - $114,300 CAD

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
