Job description

This is a remote position.

Schedule:
Monday to Friday
9AM to 6PM Houston, TX time with 1 hour unpaid break

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Rescheduler to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to communicate with patients regarding their appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling and rescheduling as needed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling both incoming and outgoing calls, assisting patients with appointment inquiries, and maintaining accurate scheduling records.

This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide excellent patient service. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact patients to schedule, reschedule, or confirm medical appointments.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients with appointment-related inquiries.
  • Proactively follow up with patients who need to reschedule due to cancellations or conflicts.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure accurate and efficient scheduling.
  • Maintain and update appointment records in the scheduling system.
  • Provide clear and professional communication to patients regarding scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Address patient concerns with professionalism and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed to support the scheduling team.


Requirements
  • Experience in medical scheduling or a related healthcare administrative role is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using scheduling software, electronic health records (EHR), or similar systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion.
