This is a remote position.

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm CST with 1 hour paid break

Job Description

We’re seeking an exceptional Accounting Assistant to play a pivotal role in our expanding proprietary trading firm. Responsibilities
  • Manage daily bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting
  • Handle invoice processing and expense categorization, maintaining a clear financial picture of the company’s operations
  • Assist with compliance-related processes, including coordinating with clearing firms and exchanges to ensure regulatory requirements are met
  • Support HR functions by managing onboarding and offboarding processes, maintaining employee records, and assisting with benefits administration
  • Organize and maintain digital and physical files, ensuring easy access to critical information
  • Manage email communications across various operational aspects, acting as a central point of contact for internal and external queries
  • Prepare financial information for month-end review, collaborating with our external accounting team to ensure seamless financial reporting
  • Execute a wide range of administrative tasks to support overall business operations, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and office management
  • Assist in the registration and management of trader tags with exchanges, supporting our trading team’s operational needs
Requirements
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate and analyze financial data
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members, clients, and regulatory bodies
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly in financial tasks and compliance-related processes
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Basic understanding of HR processes and compliance requirements in the financial sector
  • Familiarity with database management systems is a plus
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn about the proprietary trading industry and electronic market making
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information with the utmost integrity
  • Availability to work flexible hours, with the potential to transition to a full-time role as the company grows
