Job description

Commercial Cargo Claims Supervisor

Salary: $94,300 - $141,450 - commensurate with experience and location

** This is a remote position **

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Cargo Supervisor to lead a team of adjusters handling complex cargo claims across multiple states. This role requires extensive expertise in commercial trucking operations, cargo liability laws, and policy interpretations, as well as strong leadership and problem-solving skills. The Supervisor will oversee claims investigations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive efficient claims resolutions while mentoring and developing the team.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily support and supervision to a team of Cargo Adjusters.

CONDUCTS and/or REVIEWS associate performance appraisals. INITIATES or APPROVES salary adjustments, performance ratings, and other personnel changes. COUNSELS associates and TAKES disciplinary action or TERMINATES the employment of associates as appropriate.

Ensure the claim team follows State and Federal regulations associated with the handling of Cargo Claims

Assist claim personnel in the coverage investigation, damages analysis, and settlement negotiations of Cargo Claims.

ADHERES to the GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles.

MEETS attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with subordinates and management.

Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years commercial cargo experience and 1 year commercial cargo supervisor experience
  • Must be able to, with or without accommodation, perform the essential functions which include, but are not limited to seeing, hearing, typing and speaking
  • Must be able to speak in a professional manner by telephone
  • Must be able to attain and maintain the required licenses issued by the insurance departments of various states
  • Must be able to handle heavy call volume in a fast-paced work environment, resolve complex business problems and handle complicated customer issues
  • Must be able to follow complex instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/priority setting skills
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information


 

Annual Salary

$73,800.00 - $141,450.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
