Job Title: Product Owner

Location: Remote UK based

Type: Permanent, Full - time (37.5 hrs per week)

Velonetic represents the joint ventures between DXC Technology, the International Underwriting Association (IUA), and Lloyd’s of London. Previously referred to as the London Market Joint Ventures, we have been operating for over 20 years in the London market (Lloyd's and Company), in both insurance and reinsurance business. Processing over £101 billion worth of premium and claims transactions today, we are building a new digital platform and services that will enable our customers to move transactions and money through the processing lifecycle with greater efficiency and speed, releasing time to drive innovation and focus on higher value activities.

Job Overview

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining, managing, and overseeing the execution of our product roadmap. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that our products align with business objectives and strategy and that they meet the needs of our customers. Your ability to translate high-level vision into detailed requirements will be critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the product vision and roadmap.
  • Work with Growth team and Operations/Service team to design new services and functionality for our customers.
  • Develop and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals, customer needs, and budgets/timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to undertake analysis of business objectives and needs, to produce detailed product requirements.
  • Lead the team of Business Analysts within your Product.  Manage, track and report BA deliverables: analysis, epics and stories.
  • Support Business Analysts to gather and document detailed product requirements.
  • Work closely with development teams to handover requirements and ensure technology solutions align with business initiatives.
  • Work with development teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of features.
  • Support with the creation of test scenarios and development of test plans to be used in testing the business applications to verify that client requirements are incorporated into the system design. Assists in analysing testing results across all test phases.
  • Coordinate with other Product Owners and Lead BAs when your Product functionality relies on, depends on or affects other applications.
  • Approve and accept the product development work meets the customer requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Acts as translator between Development team and Business Operations teams.
  • Provide demos back to stakeholders of requested functionality and take feedback.
  • Conduct regular reviews and provide feedback on product progress and performance.
  • Ensure Product Guides remain current and are available and version controlled so Customers can design their processes around Product functionality. This also includes data dictionaries and volume estimates.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related inquiries and issues.
  • Work with DXC as a delivery partner, including solutioning, development work, and testing.

Interlock with Operations and IT Run

  • Ensure that product releases are well-coordinated and meet quality standards.
  • Work with the Growth team to understand market trends, customer feedback and competitive landscape to inform product decisions.
  • Participate in technical reviews and inspections to verify defects and gaps, supporting resolution by amending existing or creating new requirements.

Other

  • Deputises for the Principal Product Owner as needed, both on technical decisions and assisting with management duties.

Qualifications and skills

  • Proactive, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to balance technical knowledge with business acumen.
  • Knowledge of the London Insurance Market.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product development lifecycle.
