As a Product Data Analyst on the Product Team, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to inform strategic product decisions, enhance user experience, and drive marketplace efficiency. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze behavioral patterns, optimize platform performance, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about data storytelling, user behavior analytics, and impact-driven decision-making.
Collaboration, with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to integrate analytical insights into product development.
Owning and developing data models to enable reporting (often referred to as Analytics engineering).
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports, to monitor product performance.
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives.
Drive metric excellence through clarity, consistency, and data integrity for better decision-making and product impact.
Own and refine key metrics with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure accurate mapping to business goals.
Work with our Data Scientists to understand behavior and model hypothesis for exploration
1 to 3 years of experience in product analysis or a related field with data engineering experience. Preferably experienced in marketplace products with both demand and supply sides.
Strong ability to analyse supply-demand dynamics, optimize platform performance, and drive data-informed product strategies.
You're comfortable working with large datasets, identifying behavioural patterns, and generating insights to enhance user experience, engagement, and marketplace efficiency.
Proven track record of using data to influence product decisions, with concrete examples (in github or a portfolio) that have directly contributed to product value and growth
Intermediate SQL: Expertise in writing and optimising complex queries.
Write and optimize queries to calculate essential product metrics (e.g., retention, conversion, churn, engagement).
Work with complex queries to extract datasets focused on specific product features and user behaviors.
Cleaned, filtered, and standardized data to ensure accuracy in analysis.
Data Modeling: Experience with DBT or similar tools for robust data modeling.
Experience translating stakeholder requirements into DBT/SQL- based data models
Unify datasets from multiple sources, mapping product features to metrics, consolidating insights and tracking product value generated for customers.
Use SQL to window functions & intermediate data aggregation that support as the basis for key metrics dashboards and reports.
Cloud Data Warehousing: Experience with preferably Snowflake or alternatively comparable cloud solutions.
Work with JSON and VARIANT columns in Snowflake to extract and analyze product usage patterns to some extent from unstructured event logs.
Good to have not essential: Used dbt and Snowflake Streams to automate incremental updates for key datasets, reducing redundant data processing.
Support cross functional teams in data governance best practices when working with sensitive product data.
Data Visualization: Skilled in Tableau or similar platforms for actionable insights.
Has developed, owned and maintained product feature dashboards using Tableau or equivalent data visualisation tool.
Has experience transforming and communicating complex data into clear, actionable insights that inform product decisions and highlight key trends
Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have, Not Required):
Python for data automation and statistical analysis (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
Experience with A/B testing methodologies (experiment design, statistical significance testing, impact analysis).
Exposure to machine learning techniques for advanced analytics and forecasting.
Experience of using AI tools to automate and augment your workflow to improve efficiency
