DevOps Engineer (Site Reliability Focus)

Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time, remote DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role offers a great opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure. As part of our DevOps team, you will collaborate closely with development and security teams to streamline deployments, enhance system observability, and implement best practices. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement highly secure, scalable, and cloud-native architectures for various project needs.
  • Enhance observability of cloud-based systems, ensuring seamless performance monitoring and alerting.
  • Define and enforce security best practices, including Security as Code (SaC) deployments and 24/7 threat mitigation.
  • Perform security tests, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits (PCI, SOC).
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions, primarily using Terraform.
  • Automate and improve CI/CD pipelines to enhance software delivery and reliability.
  • Design and manage Kubernetes deployments using security best practices.
  • Extract and analyze security data from SIEM solutions, cloud audits, logs, and reports to proactively address vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and refine SLOs, error budgets, and deployment methodologies (e.g., blue/green deployments, GitOps, and canary releases).
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and rapid recovery for critical applications.
  • Provide Level 2 technical support and participate in on-call rotations as needed.
  • Develop automation scripts/tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Stay up to date with cybersecurity threats, cloud advancements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience in cloud security, provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting (AWS preferred).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.
  • Strong Linux and networking knowledge, particularly in AWS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and securing containerized applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language: Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Strong understanding of observability tools, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
  • Familiarity with SIEM solutions, security logs, and compliance frameworks (PCI, SOC).
  • Experience in SRE principles, including incident management, error budgeting, and post-mortem analysis.
  • Working knowledge of cloud automation, CI/CD, and GitOps methodologies.
  • Experience deploying and managing enterprise applications in production cloud environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing inefficiencies.
  • Comfortable with command-line interfaces (CLI) and working across multiple Linux distributions (e.g., Alpine, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux 2).
