Job description

Oversee and manage interaction between Operations and Underwriting at following stages of a policy, including data entry by staff and reporting of policies bound by the Structured Credit & Alternative Risks underwriters.

Responsibiities

  •  Submissions, booking, billing, limit and risk recording
  • Support underwriters and manage internal communication and approvals required to proceed with transactions and execute appropriately.  This will include accounting, finance operations and systems issues involved.
  • Oversee the generation of all program and reinsurance reports.  Liaise with and respond to inquiries from reinsurers, partners and program administrators.   
  • Provide support to Operations Manager on:
    • Ensure the timely and proper execution of deals, overseeing the interactions with Operations, Actuarial and Finance & Accounting to ensure proper billing, reserving and monitoring of premium, to comply with corporate and regulatory requirements. 
    • Oversee the correct and efficient management of premium, exposure and claims reporting requirements on transactions.  Receive and monitor reports; forward to all necessary divisions. Respond to any questions on these reports and follow through on required steps triggered by the reports.
    • Direct corporate reporting requirements, ad hoc financial reports. 

  • Become a subject matter expert regarding the group’s products, supporting the Operations Manager in order to:
    • Respond to internal questions on the business from Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, Claims;
    • Brainstorm and test efficiencies and improvements to workflows;
    • Utilize creative thinking and experiment with problem solving strategies to help generate new ideas to resolve legacy insurance and system; and
    • Work all required groups to ensure quality and consistent work when new products launch, transition books of business or new acquisitions.
  • Support team on designing and rolling out new divisional system to support underwriting, operations, finance and administration. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Familiarity with insurance and reinsurance, focusing on operations and finance
  • Min. 10 years experience with excellent references
