RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

Storage Migration Engineer

Location: Remote

Language: Portguese and English (fluent)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Storage Migration Engineer to work in a Tech Mahindra project. In this critical role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and supporting the migration of data and applications to new storage platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, network engineers, and application developers, to ensure seamless and successful migrations with minimal disruption to business operations.

Responsibilities:

Planning & Assessment:

* Conduct thorough assessments of current storage infrastructure, including performance, capacity, and utilization.

* Analyze application dependencies and data access patterns to determine optimal migration strategies.

* Develop detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.

* Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the migration lifecycle.

Migration Execution:

* Perform data migrations using various tools and techniques, including data replication, cloning, and direct data transfer.

* Monitor migration progress closely and proactively address any issues that may arise.

* Collaborate with application teams to ensure minimal downtime during migrations.

* Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated systems to ensure data integrity and performance.

Post-Migration Support:

* Provide ongoing support for migrated systems, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.

* Monitor system performance and capacity after migration and proactively address any issues.

* Continuously evaluate and improve migration processes and best practices.

* Stay abreast of the latest storage technologies and industry best practices.

Collaboration:

* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, network engineers, application developers, and database administrators.

* Effectively communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and technology partners.

Qualifications:

* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

* 5+ years of experience in storage administration and management.

* Proven experience with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, object storage, and cloud storage (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

* Experience with storage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSAN, Nutanix).

* Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills:

* Strong understanding of storage protocols (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS).

* Proficiency in storage performance analysis and troubleshooting.

* Experience with data replication and disaster recovery technologies.

* Familiarity with virtualization technologies and concepts.
