What's the role?
Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will form part of a growing business targeted at meeting the accelerating demand for renewable installations in both domestic and commercial offerings.
The aim of the Qualified Supervisor role is to ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards and in accordance with both SMS and technical regulation requirements. This is a pivotal role in the organisation and will require an individual to have a high level of technical expertise and experience along with an ability to advice and engage with team members, of all experience levels, to ensure quality standards are maintained and enhanced.
The role holder will link in closely with the Training and Compliance teams to ensure new engineers are provided with an excellent induction and training experience, setting the standards for the installation work to be completed in the coming months and years. Ensuring our consistent adherence to the very highest standards of workmanship will be a key aspect of the Qualified Supervisors role.
This role has specific responsibilities with regard to the provision of Solar PV, Battery Storage and Electrical EV works, in accordance with the IET and BS7671. The person will act as a Qualified Supervisor and Nominated Technical Person as required for Electrical works under the NICEIC Domestic Electrical Installer scheme as well as the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.
This role is contracted at 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Some of the key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
To develop and supervise a suitably competent team to support and sustain the growth of SMS
To carry out as required the implementation of competency-based audits, assessments and authorisations.
To advice SMS team members using technical knowledge to assist in the planning and maintenance of SMS projects
Acting as NICEIC Qualified Supervisor and appointed technical person assisting the Principal Duty holder, Compliance Team and EV Operations Manager in the maintenance of associated accreditations for SMS moving forward.
Acting as the Nominated Technical Person for our MCS scheme for Solar PV and Battery Storage
Providing support and mentoring to new or upskilled recruits where required.
Ensure that the results of inspection and testing are recorded correctly on the appropriate certificates
or reports.
Support the design team in the development of specific designs for PV, Battery Storage, EV and other CaRe Products if required.
To be considered for this role we would love you to have/be:
Previous experience in an Electrical field (Domestic). 5 Years minimum with evidence.
Previous experience within an EV Charging environment/Renewables , PV, Battery, ASHP.
Sound H & S knowledge and experience within electrical installation projects.
Strong and effective people management skills.
A positive attitude towards Health, Safety, Wellbeing, Environment and Quality Assurance
Able to organize and priorities to meet deadlines.
Excellent problem solving.
Full UK driving license.
Experience in single and 3ph Electricity Meter Installations.
