The Organisation

Our client is a leading organisation in their field, who have an extremely reputable name in the market. They have been around for 40+ years and in this time have grown their presence to a 15+ office network across Melbourne. They recently saw a change in senior leadership and as such, are preparing for a period of growth and need to get the right people in the right places, hence the need to recruit a Payroll Manager who would look to become a part of this journey.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance while delivering excellent service to employees and stakeholders. Your key duties will include:

  • Processing monthly payroll from start to finish for 400 employees using Keypay (Employment Hero).
  • Maintaining and updating payroll and HR systems.
  • Calculating and processing pay adjustments, new starter setups, and termination payments.
  • Performing month-end payroll reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Managing payroll tax, superannuation, deductions, and salary packaging.
  • Providing payroll-related data and reports to external parties as required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications and hands-on experience in end-to-end, standalone payroll processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to self-review.
  • The ability to adapt and work flexibly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Previous experience with Keypay (Employment Hero) would be advantageous but is not necessary for the role.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to support the broader team.
