Software Engineer (PHP)

Our client is a Sweden-based company with a dedicated development team in Poland, specializing in supply chain management solutions and serving the Nordic and European markets.

The company's platform helps businesses simplify transport bookings, monitor shipments in real-time, and automate purchase order processes.

The platform consists of two key components:

• Logistics Management

This part of the platform helps with transport bookings by integrating with multiple delivery providers, automating shipment scheduling, monitoring shipments, and optimizing carrier selection.

• Purchase Order Automation

This component helps automate purchase order processes by connecting manufacturers with suppliers, facilitating procurement workflows, and improving visibility into order statuses.

We are seeking an experienced PHP Software Engineer who is passionate about developing scalable web applications.

A business-minded problem solver with excellent communication skills who wants to work in a flat, collaborative environment proactively sharing ideas.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PHP development with Symfony or Laravel, and experience with system design, including microservice architecture and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

•  5+ years of experience in backend software development

•  Excellent knowledge of PHP 7+

•  Experience with Symfony 4+ or Laravel

• Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles

•  Familiarity with API design and inter-service communication protocols

•  Knowledge of strategies for service discovery, load balancing, and fault tolerance in distributed systems

•  Strong knowledge of SQL with experience in writing complex queries, specifically with MySQL

•  Experience with Docker

•  Knowledge of the Linux command line

•  Results-oriented mindset and a strong desire to dive into the business logic of tasks

•  Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute to finding the best solutions

•  Excellent communication skills, and a passion for continuous learning and growth

•  Fluent English and Russian

•  Experience designing and implementing microservices-based solutions

•  Understanding of client-side and server-side optimization principles

•  Experience in writing tests

•  Knowledge of PostgreSQL

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to design applications and scale project architectures as workload and functionality grow
• Implement API integrations with third-party transportation services to collect data from various sources
• Build internal API endpoints and logic
• Contribute to the transportation booking component
