Position Overview:
A Junior Medical Transcriptionist (MT) Level I will be responsible for reviewing all documentation in a client’s CRM file which includes but is not limited to medical records, Service Treatment Records (STR), Personal Assessment Questionnaires (PAQ), Rating Decision Letter (RDL), Disability Breakdown Letter (DBL), Snapshot (SS), and all other appropriate files. MT is responsible for accurate and quality transcription of pertinent information onto appropriate Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) forms. A Medical Transcriptionist, is responsible to learn and understand the VA rating criteria found on the eCFR Title 38 Part 4. A minimum of 60 DBQs must be completed per week after 90 days of employment. MT must follow the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Best Practices. MT’s must have excellent organization, comfortability utilizing computers and navigating online forms and websites, ability to multitask, perform well in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable to changes and open to continuous learning and training, superior attention to detail, and excellent communication.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review all client documentation
Technical writing, transcribing, and medical record review
Validate client questionnaire responses.
Read, understand, and transcribe medical information from a client questionnaire to a proper VA form.
Prepare pre-filled documents for medical evaluations.
Understand VA regulations on service-connected disabilities.
Review files and medical evidence to verify new disability rating calculations.
Maintain and update client records in CRM.
Conduct Medical Interviews over the phone as needed.
Tracking data in spreadsheets.
Communicate with affiliated companies.
Assist with the reduction of client medical records
Update all actions in the Company’s CRM.
Update lead profiles in the CRM.
Correct errors identified within files that are created by the JR MT I

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Ability to type at least 50 words per minute (wpm)
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time
Strong medical terminology knowledge
Ability to answer telephones, maintain logs/records
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school degree and similar experience is a plus.
1+ year(s) of experience in the medical field or as a medical scribe
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
