We're looking for a Cloud Engineer Lead to join a long-term project with one of our clients. This well-established provider of safety solutions for the logistics sector operates mainly in the US and Canada. One of your responsibilities will be to lead a team of 4-5 cloud engineers including their backlog, perform estimating & reporting (Scrum), and be the main contact person for development teams, collect requirements, and support them in their goals. On a technical level, you will perform various migrations (from on-prem to cloud, Azure Government to Azure Canada Commercial, etc.), ensure infrastructure best practices in Azure & Kubernetes space, and mentor a team (currently consisting mostly of mid-level engineers).
We require the candidate to be available in the PST time zone with a little flexibility to ensure overlapping availability with their teams on the east side of the US (California), which would mean working hours of around 3 PM - 11 PM Polish time, mostly for sync-up meetings with the team and management.
Responsibilities
Lead and guide a cloud-engineering team that maintains core company infrastructure
Drive team plannings, dailies, and other ceremonies that you choose to be necessary to prioritize and execute work
Implement and develop infrastructure automation & configuration through Terraform
Design and develop reliable and scalable Azure and Kubernetes infrastructures and deployments.
Review existing solutions and identify opportunities to improve overall productivity for efficient infrastructure management.
Provide continuous re-evaluation of existing stack and infrastructure to maintain optimal performance, availability, and security.
Focus on security when working with cloud infrastructure and automating processes.
Introduce tools and solutions to facilitate better automation and operability of services.
Work with continuously delivered (CI/CD) systems, SQL/NoSQL data stores, and microservices based on Kubernetes & Azure resources
readiness to work in the afternoons from 4 p.m. Polish time
Requirements
Min. 5 years of experience as a Cloud or DevOps Engineer with documented experience as a Team/Tech leader
Experience with Cloud (Azure) & Kubernetes management & development, including complex and distributed systems.
Maintaining and developing Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests
Building reusable and scalable infrastructure components and automation (Infrastructure as Code) via Terraform
Ability to share your knowledge, experiences, and opinions on the forum via technology demos/brainstorming sessions
