About The Mahi (role)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with experience and an interest in Occupational Health in the Vocational Rehabilitation services and/or Community space!

With extensive training and mentoring depending on experience, the successful candidate will be required to provide a wide variety of different Well At Work services within the Manawatu region, particularly working with key businesses to assist in the prevention and management of pain, discomfort, and injury in their workplaces. There is also an opportunity to do a mix of vocational and community service contracts for candidates interested in this area.

This is a full time role, however we are open to considering part time hours for the right candidate.

Your day to day tasks will be:

  • Completing workplace assessments for return to work following illness or injury.
  • Providing patient education, training, treatment, and rehabilitation in a variety of community and workplace settings.
  • Liaise with external partners such as specialists, general practitioners, and employers to ensure smooth rehabilitation for the client.
  • You will have the flexibility to complete administration and documentation tasks from home.

Skills and Experiences:

About You

Our ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy and have a minimum of 2-years clinical experience. A post-graduate qualification would be an advantage to the applicant however not essential.

It is expected that the successful applicant would be willing to work towards a post-graduate qualification.

About The Palmerston North Team

The TBI Health Palmerston North team is a well-developed and experienced team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, hand therapists, exercise therapist, clinical pharmacist, nurse practitioner and dietician. We have built strong connections with pain specialists, MSK and orthopaedic specialists within the area who work closely with the team on a case-by-case basis.

The team culture is fun and social. We love to have a good laugh together and work collaboratively. We are based in a central location with easy parking and a multitude of cafes with great coffee close by.
