We are looking to recruit an Engineering Supervisor. Your primary role will be to ensure that the engineering running shift team work effectively and efficiently throughout the shift to ensure that there are sufficient fit vehicles for service and breakdowns / on the road faults are actioned efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Allocate work and duties to the engineering team to ensure sufficient vehicles are available to provide the required service.
Ensure the engineering team effectively and efficiently deliver planned and unplanned maintenance.
Ensure the PVR (Peak Vehicle Requirement) is delivered and managed daily, likely involving cooperation with the Operations Teams.
Review vehicles and assign a status to each, ensuring unsafe and unfit vehicles do not enter service and logging any lost mileage. This includes highlighting any specific mileage challenges that may arise.
Conduct frequent and regular reviews of the facilities and workshop, covering general housekeeping, health, and safety, and reporting any issues and defects.
Ensure visitors or contractors working in the engineering department have the necessary permits and supervise any engineering contractors.
Carry out quality checks on vehicles, ensuring they meet DVSA and company standards.
Manage the running shift engineers during your shift, ensuring they have the skills and ability to perform their roles. This includes performance management and ensuring time at work is effective and productive.
About You
It is essential that you have prior experience managing a team of engineers and can motivate colleagues to work collaboratively to deliver the required vehicle maintenance. Flexibility is required.
You must be able to work under pressure without close supervision, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn technologies unique to our business are necessary.
Ideally, you will be a member of the IRTE or hold another relevant professional qualification. An interest in emerging technologies and electric vehicles would be advantageous.

Employment Type Full-Time, Permanent (Shift role working a pattern of 7 on, 3 off, 7 on and 4 off)
Salary Grade LG20 - £56,396 per annum. Overtime is payable at £31.08.
