The Regulatory Affairs Specialist works with a team of regulatory and compliance professionals to coordinate projects, assess upcoming regulatory requirements, and advise cross functional team members. This position is hybrid for applicants within a 1 hour driving radius to Lancaster, PA, and open to remote.
This role will also work closely with Clark’s Procurement division, which procures both private label and branded products for our various distribution channels (industry leading Ecommerce platform WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.). In 2023, we reached $3.6B in sales from a catalog of 450K+ SKUs. The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for a wide range of food packaging and food contact products including paper, plastic, plant based and more.
Job Responsibilities:
Research and map state and federal regulations around plastics, foam, recycling initiatives and more
Interpret regulations and determine scope for suppliers, producers, manufacturers and sellers
Create and present briefings for leadership
Identify and understand requirements for relevant 3rd party standards
Build resources and references for compliance activities
Serve as Subject Matter Expert on sustainability related attributes including biodegradability, recyclability, and PCR
Map processes and procedures to identify opportunities for efficiency
Review and approve labeling, marketing materials, and promotional content for regulatory compliance
Drive long-term projects to milestones and manage progress
Own product documentation including organization, timing for updates, auditing completeness
Additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in related field such as chemistry, supply chain management or business preferred
Five+ years related professional experience
Excellent organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks with precision in a fast-paced environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Bring a familiarity with various polymers and substrates to the role
Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding
Experience with food packaging or chemicals desired
