Overview:
Our client is seeking an intern to join the Federal and State Policy Solution team for Spring 2024, with the potential to extend through Summer 2024. The team focuses on a range of issues including federal and state legislative and regulatory policy, Medicare reform issues, Medicaid and other state health policies, commercial payer coverage and access, and federal budget and deficit reduction issues.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Federal and State Policy Solution team to help solve complicated client problems, through both short- and long-term projects and by conducting qualitative and quantitative research on a diverse array of healthcare issues.
- Work independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the origination, development and delivery of projects to clients.
- Create written summaries, memos, Excel and PowerPoint presentations as part of strategic recommendations to clients.
- Attend and report on government healthcare and life sciences meetings to enhance company’s expertise across Solution areas.
Requirements:
- Ability to concisely explain complicated policy concepts, both orally and in written materials.
- A basic understanding of federal and state regulatory bodies and government payers including Medicare, Medicaid, and state healthcare programs from coursework or experience. An understanding or interest in pharmaceuticals / pharmaceutical policy preferred.
- Course or real-world experience analyzing federal and or state policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation and conveying findings.
- Ability to understand and convey data results, including synthesizing analytical results for a non-analytics focused audience.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize work streams effectively under deadline.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Applicant should be enrolled or have recently completed a graduate degree in public policy, public health, business, economics, or other related fields.
- Applicants currently in undergraduate programs will be considered if they possess relevant course or work experience.
Benefits:

Hourly compensation during the internship: $25-$30.
