Job description

Role Overview:


The SLCP verifier plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collected during social and labor assessments within global supply chains. This position involves conducting detailed reviews and on-site inspections of facilities to verify compliance with SLCP standards. The verifier collaborates with facility management and workers to gather accurate information and identify discrepancies. The verifier should ensure that collected data is reliable and consistent.


Tasks

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct On-Site Inspections: Visit facilities to cross-check data and interview stakeholders for accurate verification.

  • Prepare Reports: Draft detailed reports highlighting findings, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

  • Engage with Stakeholders: Work closely with facility management and workers to facilitate the verification process and provide feedback.

  • Maintain Compliance: Adhere to SLCP protocols and ethical standards, staying updated on industry best practices.


Requirements

Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Labor Relations, Human Resources, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • Language Proficiency: Local Language of either Madagascar or Mauritius with C1-level proficiency in English

  • Certifications: Certification as an SLCP Verifier is preferred.

  • Any other relevant certifications in social compliance auditing or labor rights such as SA8000, SMETA, WRAP etc...


Professional Experience:



  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in social compliance auditing, labor standards verification, or a similar field.

  • Prior experience working with SLCP or other social compliance frameworks is highly desirable.


Key Competencies:



  • Strong understanding of labor standards, social compliance, and supply chain issues.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple verification assignments simultaneously.


Additional Requirements:



  • Willingness to travel to conduct on-site verifications.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Adherence to SLCP’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Guidelines.
