Job Summary

Our dynamic Ethos team is seeking a full-time/remote Special Investigations Unit (SIU) Specialist to manage claim investigations in the personal lines areas: property and casualty insurance claims. This role requires a strong understanding of SIU protocols and fraud detection to complete SIU tasks as directed by clients and management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in claims investigations (personal lines auto, and property), excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and manage SIU investigations for various claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Cross-sell services when opportunities arise to support business growth.
  • Perform key SIU-related tasks as assigned by clients and management.
  • Analyze and evaluate investigative findings to identify potential fraud indicators.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reports for investigative activities.
  • Collaborate with claims adjusters, legal teams, and law enforcement as needed.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Legal Studies or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • Required: 2+ years of experience managing claims investigations, including auto-liability, property casualty, liability, disability, and worker's compensation files.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience within an insurance carrier or third-party administrator's SIU department.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Adjuster's license or Private Investigator's license (preferred).
  • FCLA, FCLS or equivalent designations (preferred).
