Active Directory Specialist

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to lead the migration of Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) to Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID). The role requires expertise in identity management, cloud authentication, and application migration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute the migration of ADFS applications to Azure AD.
• Analyze existing ADFS configurations and assess migration feasibility using tools like AD FS Application Activity Reports.
• Configure Azure AD applications with proper SAML URLs, claims mapping, and user assignments.
• Implement staged rollouts for testing and smooth transition.
• Ensure compatibility of applications and user identifiers between ADFS and Azure AD.
• Decommission ADFS infrastructure post-migration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize applications and minimize business impact.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of ADFS architecture and Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID).
• Experience with tools such as Microsoft Entra Connect and Health agents for monitoring migration.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for configuration analysis.
• Familiarity with conditional access, certificate-based authentication, and token augmentation in Azure AD.
• Ability to troubleshoot migration blockers and optimize application sign-in activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in Microsoft Azure or Identity Management.
• Experience with cloud authentication strategies like converting federated domains to managed domains.
• Knowledge of SaaS application integration with Azure AD (e.g., Salesforce, Dropbox).
• This role is critical in modernizing identity management systems while enhancing security, reducing infrastructure costs, and streamlining user experiences.
