PHP Engineer + Frontend Developer

We are looking for a skilled PHP Engineer + Frontend Developer with extensive experience in PHP, particularly in legacy system modernization and code clean-up. This role requires a deep understanding of web application architecture, strong frontend development skills, and the ability to work within Agile development environments.

Mandatory Skills:

• 6+ years of experience and a degree in Computer Science or a related field — or 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive experience with PHP, particularly in legacy systems and code clean-up.
• Deep understanding of web application architecture and design principles (SOLID, MVC, MVVM, monolith vs. microservices).
• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap for client-side development.
• Basic understanding of Apache server configuration and AWS services (EC2, Auto Scaling, etc.).
• Strong proficiency with MySQL.
• Solid experience writing unit tests and producing testable code.
• Highly effective communication skills.
• Experience with source code control tools and techniques.
• Professional experience developing highly scalable APIs and integrations.

Nice To Have:

• Hands-on experience with the Yii PHP framework (especially versions 1.1 and 2.2).
• Experience with Bootstrap and/or Foundation CSS frameworks.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Knowledge of Nginx configuration.
• Solid understanding of AWS services like EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, CodeCommit, and RDS.
• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
