Job description

Pharmacoepidemiologist - PV Epidemiology

We are looking for a Pharmacoepidemiologist to join a dynamic Pharmacovigilance (PV) Epidemiology team within the pharmaceutical industry. In this role, you will contribute to the understanding of medicinal product safety across multiple therapeutic areas. You will collaborate closely with senior pharmacoepidemiologists, supporting the identification and summarization of safety-related information from epidemiological and clinical literature, as well as electronic health databases.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct reviews of epidemiological and clinical trial literature, summarizing safety-related data on targeted patient populations.
- Collaborate with senior pharmacoepidemiologists to design literature search strategies.
- Work alongside the Statistical and Real-World Data (RWD) Science team to analyze safety insights from electronic health data, including health insurance claims and EHR databases (no programming required).
- Support the analysis, interpretation, and summarization of aggregate safety data from RWD sources.
- Evaluate the efficiency of generative AI tools in aiding literature reviews.

Required Qualifications:
- MSc / MPH or equivalent with a focus on epidemiology or a related field.
- Strong English-language skills, both spoken and written.
- Experience in designing and conducting epidemiological literature reviews.
- Ability to interpret and abstract safety information from published clinical trial data.
- Solid understanding of foundational epidemiological research concepts, including incidence rates, prevalence, and study design methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD or equivalent in epidemiology.
- 2+ years of experience working in cross-functional teams within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
- Experience conducting epidemiological research for academic conferences or peer-reviewed publications.
- Extensive experience with cohort study design, time-to-event analysis, and pharmacoepidemiological methodologies.
- Familiarity with electronic health databases, including health insurance claims and EHR data.
- Understanding of generative AI tools for literature review support.
