Job description

Principle Accountability

• Strategies and work for bringing solution for Origin & Destination for Long Standing Cargo in close coordination with all concerned functions / teams and top management
• To bring about process efficiencies and automation in logistics function and make the function system driven.

Key Performance Areas

Manage all D&D cases for all businesses
• Record / Register all D &D cases, develop a tracker on progress
• Develop fact sheets for every case based on all the necessary details, information gathered from all sources
• Take necessary steps to obtain the detention waiver from shipping lines
• Coach and develop the concerned logistics team member handling the case in managing D&D cases
• Represent company’s stand to the shipping lines, and negotiate to get the maximum waiver possible
• Maintain an up-to-date tracker of all cases and report progress of resolution
• Take all corrective actions in future shipments, by providing revised SOPs and guidelines , to avoid incidences of DND or its possible costs impact to the company
• Conduct DND meetings of all concerned periodically to improve awareness and abilities internally to manage
• Prepare MIS on all pending cases and update concerned superiors at agreed frequencies ( Daily/Weekly )
Tracking longstanding units:
• Ensure LA is aligned/ updated in a timely manner to give correct position and adequate visibility of longstanding units
• Develop process to keep track of all longstanding cases (above 14days) Ensure that correct commodity is booked under correct client name by logistics team
• Escalate and bring to notice the difficult situations / cases to senior management
• Building Strong Relationship with shipping lines
• Manage long term relationship with shipping lines by taking required measures including networking
• Develop healthy / good relations with major shipping line
• Ensure routine / periodical meetings with shipping line officials who are responsible for D&
• Maintain updated and exhaustive contact list of shipping line officials and agencies, maintain a central repository.
• Spearhead the corporate relations and brand image building program for our organization specially with shipping line and related market players.
Automation Projects
• Responsible to identify areas in logistics function which could be atomised to improve efficiencies, costs and response time and improve the overall efficiency of the team
• Lead atomization projects with the help of IT team or external service provider.
Rubber Logistics Function Management
• Responsible to Provide functional leadership to Rubber Logistics team at jodhpur
• Periodically review logistics team functioning at Jodhpur
• Provide robust SOPs and check lists to ensure daily work is system driven
• Asses and upgrade competencies and skills of the logistics team
• Responsible to Track, manage and resolve problems and issues
• To attend day to day logistics issues as per requirement
• Keep track of all issues , and ensure its timely resolution
• Proactively suggest solutions to fix root cause of commonly / repeatedly occurring business issues
• Hold Rubber logistics meeting on every Friday to discuss ongoing logistic issues.

SOPs:
• Provide, detailed SOPs for all key Logistics processes and its measurement
• Review SOPs periodically and revise basis the problems and inefficiencies
• Conduct periodical audit to assess compliance level in logistics team
