This role is responsible for driving business development efforts with a specific focus on managing national, state, and local conferences, events, seminars, and meetings that align with Molina’s strategic goals. The Community Impact Event Manager will also conduct market research, competitive intelligence analysis, and project management to support larger business development initiatives and oversee budgets for assigned projects. The manager will perform other business development support activities as needed. This position reports to the Vice President, Business Development.
Job Duties
Conference Management
Plan, organize, and execute national, state and local conferences, seminars, and meetings to support business development objectives
Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, vendors, and partners to ensure successful conference preparation, participation and outcomes
Develop and deliver presentations, exhibits and materials for events that align with Molina’s strategic priorities
Identify and secure speaking opportunities, sponsorships and preferential conference positioning.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with conference planners and decision makers.
Business Development Support
Complete research and market analysis efforts to identify emerging trends, competitive opportunities and potential business growth opportunities
Supports and participates in high-priority business development activities for larger-sized opportunities, including the preparation of proposals and presentations
Strategic Insights and Reporting
Provide actionable insights from competitive intelligence and market research to inform decision- making.
Support the preparation of reports, dashboards, and presentations on business development activities and conference outcomes for senior leadership.
Project Management
Manage and lead business development projects from inception through completion including setting milestones, tracking progress, and delivering results.
Oversee and manage budget related to conference management and other assigned business development initiatives.
Job Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of experience in business development, conference/event management, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
7 years of experience in business development with a proven track record of conference management.
Certification in Event Management (e.g., CMP, CEM) is highly desirable
