The Global Portfolio Management Office (PMO) serves as the intake mechanism for all in-scope HR projects funded by the Gyokei/International Portfolio Committee (IPC), ensuring projects are prioritized in alignment with evolving business needs and delivered within agreed timelines and budget commitments. The PMO establishes and runs the Global HR Portfolio Committee, working with stakeholders to prioritize projects, coordinate approvals, allocate resources, and oversee governance. It also tracks and reports on project progress, including results, timing, and budget, to ensure transparency and accountability.

The position works globally, and scheduling flexibility is required to allow for regular meetings and connectivity with colleagues in the Americas, APAC, and EMEA time zones.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 

The Vice President, Global HR Portfolio Reporting & Insights Lead is responsible for leading portfolio tracking, financial oversight, governance reporting, and data-driven decision-making for the Global HR Portfolio. This role ensures portfolio governance processes align with strategic priorities, financial planning, and execution tracking.

This role provides critical oversight of portfolio prioritization, funding, and resource allocation while driving transparency through reporting and analytics. By integrating governance, budget utilization, and execution data, this role supports the HR Leadership Team (GHRLT) and Portfolio Committee in making informed decisions.

The VP partners closely with the AVP, Global HR Portfolio Governance & Execution Specialist, Finance, and HR Leadership to ensure governance frameworks, budget tracking, and resource planning align with strategic objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will take ownership and responsibility for the following:

  • Portfolio Tracking, Performance Reporting & Storytelling
  • Lead GHR portfolio reporting for senior stakeholders, providing insights on project performance, financials, risks, and resource utilization
  • Develop and maintain real-time dashboards, reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance portfolio visibility
  • Ensure reporting integrates governance, execution, financial tracking, and resource management insights, offering a comprehensive portfolio view
  • Craft compelling narratives around portfolio performance, translating complex data into meaningful business insights for leadership
  • Partner with the AVP, Portfolio Governance & Execution Specialist to align prioritization, budget utilization, and resource allocation tracking with portfolio reporting

  • Portfolio Prioritization & Financial Oversight
  • Provide strategic oversight on project prioritization, ensuring funding and resources align with business objectives
  • Collaborate with Finance and HR leadership to track and analyze portfolio funding structures, financial variances, and resource capacity trends
  • Ensure alignment between governance decisions, financial planning, and execution tracking to drive efficient portfolio management
  • Monitor budget utilization, ensuring HR project investments align with financial goals and risk thresholds

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Regional Alignment
  • Act as a key liaison for global and regional HR leaders, ensuring reporting consistency and portfolio alignment across geographies
  • Support HR Leadership Team (GHRLT) in making data-driven investment decisions, providing insights that integrate governance, financial, and execution data
  • Ensure seamless coordination across Finance, HR Solutions, and Portfolio Committee stakeholders, integrating financial planning and execution insights into governance discussions.
  • Standardize reporting frameworks, metrics, and methodologies across regions to ensure consistency

  • Data Analytics & Insights
  • Utilise advanced analytics and visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) as needed to improve reporting effectiveness
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through portfolio data analysis
  • Conduct deep-dive assessments to evaluate project performance, ROI, and resource efficiency

  • Governance & Compliance Alignment
  • Ensure portfolio compliance with corporate financial controls, budget policies, and prioritization standards
  • Monitor adherence to governance and execution processes, driving consistency and standardization across global HR projects
  • Support governance activities by aligning reporting with prioritization, budget oversight, and compliance standards

  • Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish best practices for portfolio reporting, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with governance processes
  • Enhance data collection, validation, and reporting processes to improve decision-making capabilities
  • Continuously improve reporting methodologies by integrating financial insights, resource management data, and execution tracking

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience in portfolio management, reporting, analytics, or related fields within HR, finance, or strategy
  • Proven experience in leading portfolio reporting functions and driving executive-level decision-making through data insights
  • A background in multi-regional or global HR project portfolios is preferred

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise in data analysis, visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.), and project portfolio management (PPM) systems
  • Strong understanding of HR project governance, financial tracking, and strategic portfolio management
  • Ability to craft compelling narratives from data to drive understanding, alignment, and decision-making
  • C-suite and executive communication skills, with the ability to present complex portfolio insights in a clear, impactful manner
  • Experience working in a global, cross-functional environment, influencing senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Agile, Lean Portfolio Management, or similar methodologies is a plus

Performance and Duties

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity’s performance framework and process, with relevant input obtained from the dual-hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or Department Head.

The compensation and benefits information in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside of the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits consistent with the local market.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $130,000 - $160,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
