Job description

Dealership:
L0105 Lithia Home Office

Lithia & Driveway | Treasury Governance Analyst

Location: Remote

Compensation: $45,000-$65,000 annually

We offer a competitive starting wage that is based on a variety of factors, including the specific role, experience, qualifications, skill set, and education.

The Analyst on the Treasury Governance team is responsible for planning, developing, and performing strategic reviews and audits across various Treasury operations to achieve both risk-based and compliance goals.  For risk-based reviews, the focus and goals for conducting these will change year-to-year based on the internally assessed risks and concerns of the Treasury leadership team, allowing for self-governance and continuous improvement.  For compliance audits, the goal is to ensure tasks are conducted according to established guidelines, policies, procedures, and requirements, serving as a quality control check over key functions within Treasury.  This role will interact with various groups within Treasury and provides visibility to the Treasury leadership team, enabling future opportunities for career growth within Lithia.

The Analyst will also be involved in multiple governance and reporting endeavors throughout the year, in coordination and/or collaboration with other departments within Treasury.  Many of these efforts may, at least initially, be developed and maintained by the Treasury Governance team but can/may be transitioned to other groups within Treasury as they stabilize and become more predictable or repeatable processes and deliverables.  These endeavors will also provide visibility across Treasury and promote interactions with different leaders and team members, including groups outside of Treasury (e.g. Real Estate, Accounting, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, present, and execute an annual governance assessment plan to respond to Treasury risks and controls, considering all areas of the Treasury organization.  This will include conversations with various Treasury team members, including leaders.
  • Contribute to the scoping of risk-based reviews and compliance audits.  Develop and execute detailed programs and deliver reports assessing the “health” of various elements of the Treasurer’s org.
  • Identify and evaluate organizational risk areas, ensuring appropriate processes and controls are designed and functioning adequately to mitigate identified risks.  These may be related to the company’s overall Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assessment, the company’s SOX processes and controls, or other compliance matters like PCI.
  • Be curious about understanding current policies and procedures within Treasury operations, including Corporate Finance, Banking, Cash Management, Risk Management, and Vehicle Inventory Services.
  • Act as the liaison for all governing bodies related to compliance and oversight, including Accounting Policy, SOX, and KPMG.  This will include being the main point of contact for all of Treasury with KPMG during their annual audit.
  • Explore opportunities to utilize AI and other automated “smart tools” to evaluate pattern-based work like identifying potential fraud behaviors or transactions and conducting limited investigations to evaluate the pervasiveness of potential issues.
  • Assist with oral and written presentations to Treasury leaders during and after reviews and audits, discussing observations, results, deficiencies, recommended actions, and the status of responsive efforts.  In addition, presentations to the Treasurer may include quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the organization’s health and share improvements needed and being made.
  • Provide governance and organization to the daily activity and balances of the company’s lines of credit (US, Canada, and the UK), issued standby letters of credit and sureties, and aggregation and refresh of the Statement of Values (SOV) for the US, Canada, and the UK (each separately reported).
  • Perform other Treasury duties as needed.
