Job Title: Temporary Accounting Staff

Location: [Remote / East Coast] 

Duration: [3 months] Reports to: Controller


Job Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Temporary Accounting Staff to join our finance team. In this role, you will assist with general accounting tasks such as maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting the month-end close process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in accounting and contribute to the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.

· Maintain and update accounting records, including general ledger entries.

· Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements, and accounts payable/receivable.

· Support the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

· Process and record invoices, ensuring timely and accurate posting.

· Perform data entry and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

· Review and verify financial documents, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

· Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

· Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding financial transactions.

· Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed.


Qualifications:

· Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

· Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally in a temporary or support capacity.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle Net Suite, Time Sheet Systems, Billing A/R tracking) is a plus.

· Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.

· Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.


Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit for extended periods and use office equipment (e.g., computer, phone).

· Occasional lifting of office supplies (up to 15 lbs).
