This is a remote position.

Role Name: Medical Assistant 

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • First Assistant: Monday through Friday, 10am - 7pm
  • Second Assistant: Tuesday through Saturday 11am - 8pm

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for patient care coordination, managing insurance verifications and new patient onboarding with precision and care
  • Handle vital medication management tasks, including processing requests and coordinating refills to ensure uninterrupted patient care
  • Efficiently manage and process medical and laboratory orders, playing a crucial role in the diagnostic process
  • Take charge of healthcare-related form management, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations
  • Contribute to patient care by assisting with the initiation of patient notes, including recording essential vital signs and chief complaints
  • Monitor and manage incoming faxes, prioritizing urgent communications to maintain seamless patient care
  • Act as a key communicator, liaising between patients, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to ensure clear and timely information flow
  • Demonstrate flexibility by managing appointment rescheduling and other administrative tasks as needed
  • Embrace additional virtual medical assistant duties, adapting to the evolving needs of our dynamic healthcare practice
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the healthcare field, particularly as a medical assistant, with a strong understanding of US healthcare systems and processes
  • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, virtual environment
  • Proficiency in using healthcare-related software, insurance verification portals, and general office applications
  • Solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional home office setup
