Job description

About Woolf
Our Mission

Our mission at Woolf is to make higher education more accessible and ensure that it is globally transferable. Woolf is the first global, collegiate higher education institution that lets qualified organizations join as member colleges and offer accredited degrees.

Our software helps colleges meet and maintain regulatory and quality standards—managing everything from course creation to degree issuance. Like the member colleges at the University of Oxford or the University of California, Woolf’s colleges have the benefit of being a part of a major higher education institution while staying independent.

Role Overview

The Director of Product will define and execute Woolf’s product vision, leading strategy, prioritization, and execution for our AI-powered accreditation and education technology platform. You will work cross-functionally to drive business impact, enhance user experience, and ensure scalability. While leadership is central to this role, you should also be comfortable contributing hands-on where needed.

Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
  • Own and evolve the product vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and market needs.
  • Define and prioritize the roadmap, balancing strategic initiatives, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Lead product discovery, market research, and competitive analysis to drive innovation.
Execution & Delivery
  • Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring timely, high-quality releases.
  • Work closely with remote engineering teams (primarily in Ukraine) to ensure smooth execution and collaboration.
  • Establish KPIs to track product performance, ensuring data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead Agile best practices, backlog management, and sprint planning across teams.
API & Platform Development
  • Define strategy for public APIs and integrations, ensuring usability and alignment with Woolf’s accreditation management system.
  • Partner with engineering to optimize API developer experience (DX), security, and scalability.
  • Oversee API documentation, versioning, and third-party integration processes.
User Experience & Quality Assurance
  • Champion a customer-first approach to product design and usability.
  • Ensure consistency in UX/UI patterns, accessibility, and overall product experience.
  • Implement feedback loops and usability testing to drive continuous improvements.
Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with executive leadership, engineering, design, and business teams.
  • Align product initiatives with compliance, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Ensure transparent communication of product updates, release cycles, and changes to stakeholders.

Requirements

Technical & Leadership Qualifications
  • 8+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead high-performing product teams in a remote-first environment.
  • Strong background in SaaS, education technology, accreditation, or compliance-based products.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • API integrations and developer experience optimization.
    • Basic SQL and data analysis for product insights.
    • Cloud infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes, Redis) and AI-driven automation.
    • Product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, Looker).
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, technically feasible solutions.
What Success Looks Like
  • In 90 days, you will refine the product roadmap, define key OKRs, and establish alignment across teams.
  • Within six months, you will implement improved product management processes and launch high-impact features.
  • Long-term success is measured by platform scalability, user adoption, and AI-driven automation improvements.
