Job description

OpenFn is a digital public good (DPG) used by governments and NGOs around the world to scale the next generation of health, humanitarian, and environmental protection interventions via data integration, interoperability, and automation. The role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Digital Marketing Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing integrated digital marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness, generate leads, and support our mission of helping NGOs, Governments and other social impact partners automate critical business processes that cut across digital systems, in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

You will play a key role in building and nurturing our online presence, engaging with our target audience, and driving meaningful impact through digital channels.

What you’ll be doing

Content Marketing:

  • Co-develop overall content strategy and calendar aligned to company goals and objectives.
  • Design and create high-quality sales and marketing collateral, including presentations, brochures, case studies, and other materials. 
  • Develop compelling visuals for marketing campaigns, such as infographics, social media graphics, and possibly even video scripts.
  • Research, write, and publish engaging content for the company blog, case studies and monthly newsletter, all while demonstrating the ability to translate complex information into clear and concise technical writing that will resonate with our audience. 

Social Media Marketing:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies across key platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Community Forums) together with Sales team.
  • Create engaging social media content, including text, images, and videos.
  • Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries.
  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.

Email Marketing:

  • Design, develop, and execute targeted email marketing campaigns using platforms like Mailchimp.
  • Segment email lists and personalize messages for maximum impact.
  • Track email campaign performance and optimize campaigns based on key metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates).

Website Management:

  • Work with an in-house developer to provide input on maintaining and updating the company website, including content updates, visual design enhancements. 
  • Provide inputs on website functionality and user experience to ensure that these are optimized.

Event Planning & Management:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of online and offline events, including webinars, workshops, and conferences.
  • Manage event logistics, registration, and support.

Community Building:

  • Manage and grow our online community, including engaging with followers on social media and fostering a sense of community among our audience.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track and analyze key marketing metrics, including website traffic, social media engagement, email open rates, and conversion rates.
  • Generate regular reports on marketing campaign performance and provide insights for optimization.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in digital marketing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a digital marketing role.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful digital marketing campaigns.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong background in technology and international development with bonus points for direct experience in Health/Govtech/ICT4D and exposure to non-profits and/or NGOs.
  • Proficiency in social media marketing best practices and tools.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp).
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and website management (not needed, but a plus!).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for social impact and a strong interest in the non-profit/social sector.
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform marketing decisions.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) is a plus.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Flexible working schedule - looking for someone to work a minimum of 2 full days per week (16 hours per week)
