Directly responsible to manage the team that builds Varo’s highly-rated mobile apps for iOS, Android devices and web. Have a direct impact on how our customers interact with their finances in Varo Bank. Be part of the engineering leadership team, partner with other leads to architect and build products that deliver value to our customers.
What you'll be doing
Manage a team of passionate developers engineers that builds and maintains Varo Bank’s flagship mobile app
Coach and mentor your team members, direct reports, and peers to be the best they can be while attracting and hiring key talent to uplevel the organization
Manage release activities for our apps, deployment and ongoing support of high-quality with focus on engineering efficiency & Customer First mindset
Develop mobile infrastructure to support feature teams with frontend development
Ensure teams are able to effectively deliver on short term goals as well as define and execute the long-term strategies and roadmaps
Collaborate cross-functionally with a broad range of functions including engineering, product, design, marketing, and customer engagement
Implement lightweight processes to help the team scale while allowing for agility to accommodate our dynamic environment. You’ll also partner with other engineering leaders to do the same across the engineering org
Recruit world-class talent and provide mentorship to team members.
You'll bring the following required skills and experiences
8+ years of software development experience
3+ years of people management experience, including coaching and growing senior engineers
Hands on experience in native mobile app development
Experience in testing and shipping mobile apps scale (millions of users, hundreds of developers)
Experience leading a group of mobile engineers, iOS, Android and web
Experience with React Native
Experience with web development in React
Experience defining and building software products with a customer first approach
