ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Vice President of Engineering Services will lead and oversee the centralized engineering and project management operations within Trace3, ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical solutions that meet client needs, maximize profit outcomes, and drive business success. This strategic role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in engineering management, project delivery, and resource optimization.

The VP of Engineering Services will be responsible for developing and executing the engineering strategy, enhancing operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. This position will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Trace3, including Sales, Pres-Sales Engineering, BUs, People and Org Health, Finance, and Services Operations to align engineering capabilities with services offerings. Key responsibilities include managing engineering teams and the PMO, overseeing project lifecycles from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, maximizing project profitability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring our engineering services are positioned for growth and success in a competitive market.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Spearhead the centralization of engineering teammates into a unified delivery team, fostering collaboration and enhancing service delivery capabilities.
  • Oversee and manage a diverse team of engineering leaders, consultants, and project managers, ensuring they are effectively aligned with our service offerings and client needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure that delivery practices are closely aligned with our core service offerings, driving consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Oversee and be responsible for the optimization, billable, utilization, and allocation of engineering and project management teammates based on project requirements, skill sets, and client priorities to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Direct the PMO’s strategic initiatives and refine project management methodologies to enhance delivery efficiency and effectiveness while managing the PMO budget for optimal financial performance.
  • Provide oversight and strategic direction to the engineering management team responsible for risk assessment, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain standards for delivery excellence, implementing best practices and methodologies to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Track and analyze the performance of delivery teams against established KPIs, making data-driven adjustments to improve service delivery and maximize profit.
  • Own and manage the performance of hygiene of the services backlog, ensuring effective program timing and closure, and managing the financial impact of the backlog against company objectives.
  • Work cross functionally with Regional and BU Engineering Leadership, Services Operations, and Sales to ensure that the engineering bench supports the overall Trace3 business strategy and adapts to market changes. 
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, serving as a senior escalation point to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Responsible for supervising and ensuring optimal client satisfaction throughout the entire lifecycle of the engagement; measure client outcomes and value realization including NPS for meeting and exceeding market-leading client experience and excellence.
  • Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and mentoring engineering and project management team leads and consultants, supporting their professional development while aligning their skills with client demands and services offerings.
  • Advise, consult, and make recommendations to the SVP of Services and President on strategy and long-range planning.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or relevant professional services management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a related IT services environment
  • Demonstrated success in scaling and profitably growing an IT services business
  • Management experience in a team-oriented workplace, outstanding interpersonal employee coaching and development skills
  • Proven experience in ensuring resources are allocated effectively across engagements
  • Successful track record of building and retaining high performing teams that are deployed effectively across business offerings
  • Strong influencing skills to get things done and inspire business transformation
  • Demonstrated success building rapport and credibility as a strategic partner vertically and horizontally across an organization
  • Ability to approach customer and sales requests in a proactive and consultative manner; listen and understand user requests and needs and effectively deliver
  • Strong financial and business acumen with understanding of a multi-faceted business operation
  • Highly skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills with an ability to work in customer-facing environments, as well as present issues to C-Level Executives and senior leadership
  • Ability to travel as needed

 

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$250,400$326,400 USD
