Social Media Specialist

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing and growing Medical Informatics Engineering’s (MIE), WebChart, and BlueHive social media presence. This role involves creating engaging content, monitoring analytics, and strategizing campaigns to enhance brand awareness. Additionally, this role will provide occasional support in planning and executing aspects of the Academy annual employee conference.

Responsibilities (in order of importance)

• Develop and execute engaging social media content across platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

• Manage a content calendar and schedule posts consistently

• Monitor and analyze social media metrics to optimize performance and engagement

• Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner

• Work closely with the Video Production Specialist to align social media strategies with business objectives

• Collaborate with internal teams to highlight company initiatives, employee spotlights, industry trends, and AI advancements

• Assist in creating social media graphics, short-form videos, and written content

• Stay updated on social media trends and emerging platforms

Event Support (Occasional Responsibility - Academy Annual Conference)

• Assist in planning and coordinating logistics for the Academy annual employee conference

• Support scheduling and organization of travel, accommodations, and event vendors

• Help with event registration, attendee communication, and promotional materials

• Develop and execute social media promotion before, during, and after the event

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in social media management, event coordination, or digital marketing

• Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics, and best practices

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently

• Experience coordinating events, scheduling logistics, and working with vendors preferred

• Basic graphic design or video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) preferred

• Familiarity with AI, healthcare, or tech-related industries is beneficial

Education/Certifications Required

• No degree required, related field or equivalent education and experience.

• Some knowledge of EHR systems (not required)

Physical/Mental Essential Requirements:

• Walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, moderate lifting and carrying (up to thirty (30) pounds).  

• Full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. 

• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. 

• Ability to sit at a computer work station for extended periods of time.  

• Occasionally I need to stand for long periods of time.  

• Ability to focus on detail and accuracy of work product.  

• Work is performed primarily in a non-smoking office environment, though travel may expose employees to inclement weather conditions. 

• Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

• Occasional high stress may be experienced.
