Job description

We are seeking to strengthen our Technical Product Management role in our Product Management team that shapes and executes the Virtuozzo product strategy, including our core product offerings for Alternative Cloud Providers (CSPs, HSPs, Telcos). This role demands a seasoned product leader with deep expertise in cloud technologies and virtualization, coupled with a strategic mindset to elevate customer satisfaction and accelerate growth across the Virtuozzo product portfolio.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Driving technology differentiation & innovation, ensuring leadership in areas like high performance software-defined storage, operating systems, virtualization, and software-defined networks.
  • Deep technical engagement with engineering
    • Actively participate in design reviews, RFI/RFC processes, and code architecture discussions to ensure technical feasibility and competitive advantage;
    • Advocate for performance engineering, driving key performance, and scalability benchmarks;
  • Competitive benchmarking & thought leadership
    • Work with benchmarking teams to compare performance of competitive products and technologies;
    • Define next generation workload efficiencies;
    • Collaborate with hardware vendors (storage, networking, CPU, GPU) to co-develop performance-enhanced solutions.
  • Drive product strategy for Virtuozzo product suite, including virtualization, cloud management platforms, and infrastructure solutions for CSP, MSP, and SME markets.
  • Develop a comprehensive technological product roadmap that aligns with the company’s business objectives and customer needs.
  • Work on cross-product initiatives to create a seamless experience across the Virtuozzo ecosystem, including integrations with third-party tools and emerging technologies.

COMPETENCIES:

    • Deep Technical Expertise in one or multiple areas:
      • Virtualization - strong understanding of containers, hypervisors, and orchestration; Familiarity with GPU virtualization;
      • Storage Technologies - block, object, and file storage architectures. Knowledge of data replication, erasure coding, tiered storage, and caching strategies;

    • Strong Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Engineering Collaboration
        • Ability to write detailed PRDs (Product Requirement Documents) with deep technical specs;
        • Strong communication skills to align engineers, architects, and kernel developers on product decisions;
        • Experience in technical design reviews, RFC processes, and architectural discussions.
      • Cross-Team Influence
        • Ability to work closely with QA, DevOps, SREs, and benchmarking teams to drive performance optimizations;
        • Close collaboration with sales engineers & solution architects to define use cases and support customer deployments;
        • Experience working with legal, compliance, and security teams to meet regulatory standards (e.g., FIPS, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
    • Innovation & Intellectual Property (IP) Development
      • Ability to identify patentable technologies and work with legal teams to protect key innovations.
      • Experience in filing patents for virtualization, high-performance storage, and next-gen networking architectures.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making & Performance Optimization
      • Ability to analyze performance benchmarks
      • Experience in defining KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to measure product success

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Past experience in Technical Product Management is preferred but not required;
    • 5+ years of OS/storage/networking software development or advanced system administration of a production Linux systems.
