About the Role

IIX is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to drive the growth and expansion of its Advisory Services vertical, with a strong focus on scaling market penetration in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This high-impact leadership role carries full P&L responsibility, focusing on unlocking corporate, institutional, and financial clients while maintaining strong engagement with DFIs, policymakers, development institutions, and INGOs. The ultimate goal is to establish IIX as the premier advisory firm in sustainable finance and ESG-driven impact investments across South and Southeast Asia.

The ideal candidate is a visionary executive with a proven track record in advising corporates, financial institutions, and public sector clients on sustainability, impact finance, and ESG integration. They will drive revenue growth, expand market influence, and shape the future of sustainable finance in high-growth ASEAN economies.

This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and a deep understanding of the evolving sustainability needs of the corporate and financial sectors. The Head of Advisory will lead a high-performing team to develop cutting-edge advisory solutions and scale IIX’s presence in key Southeast Asian markets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Growth & Market Expansion (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines)

• Develop and execute a market expansion strategy to position IIX as a leading ESG transformation, sustainable finance, and impact investment advisory firm in key ASEAN economies.
• Own and drive P&L responsibility, setting revenue growth targets and ensuring financial sustainability.
• Expand IIX’s corporate and financial client base, securing multi-year advisory engagements with large enterprises, financial institutions, private equity, and asset managers.
• Establish strategic partnerships with regulators, DFIs, and policymakers to drive sustainable finance adoption in target markets.
• Develop and execute market-entry strategies, leveraging corporate networks, financial sector expertise, and public-private partnerships.
• Build and manage a network of local advisory firms, consultants, and ecosystem partners to scale service delivery and execution.
• Innovate and design new advisory offerings integrating sustainability strategies, impact measurement, and financing structures tailored for high-growth ASEAN markets.

2. Advisory Service Delivery & High-Value Client Management

• Lead large-scale advisory engagements with C-suite executives across corporates, financial institutions, and public sector entities to embed ESG and impact-linked financial strategies.
• Develop and oversee advisory solutions in sustainability strategy, ESG integration, blended finance, and sustainability-linked investment frameworks.
• Support clients in structuring sustainability-linked financing, gender-lens investing, and climate finance solutions to drive capital flows into impact sectors.
• Provide strategic insights on just transitions, supply chain sustainability, and ESG-driven investment decision-making.
• Lead negotiations with financial institutions, private sector players, and investors to scale IIX’s advisory influence.
• Ensure seamless execution of advisory projects, aligning with IIX’s impact and business growth objectives.

3. Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing advisory team delivering world-class ESG and impact finance advisory services.
• Establish best-in-class advisory methodologies across impact measurement, financial advisory, and sustainability strategy consulting.
• Foster a culture of high-impact execution, data-driven decision-making, and client excellence.
• Oversee resource allocation, performance management, and team capacity-building.

4. Strategic Partnerships & Thought Leadership

• Cultivate high-value relationships with C-suite executives, DFIs, investors, and regulators to drive sustainable finance adoption.
• Represent IIX in global and regional forums, speaking engagements, and industry panels.
• Shape industry thought leadership by publishing white papers, articles, and executive insights.
• Work closely with policymakers, financial sector stakeholders, and industry leaders to advocate for regulatory frameworks that enable sustainable finance and impact-driven investments.

1. Revenue Growth & Market Penetration
   • Achievement of annual revenue and profitability targets.
   • Number of new corporate, institutional, and financial sector clients secured.
   • Expansion of IIX’s advisory footprint across Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
2. Client Impact & Service Excellence
   • Retention rate of key advisory clients.
   • Number of successful ESG and impact finance projects executed.
   • Client satisfaction and repeat business rates.
3. Team Development & Leadership
   • Growth and retention of high-performing advisory team members.
   • Implementation of training and capability-building initiatives.
4. Strategic Influence & Thought Leadership
   • Number of industry forums, speaking engagements, and publications authored.
   • Adoption of IIX-recommended ESG and sustainable finance frameworks by policymakers and corporates.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of leadership experience in management consulting, ESG/sustainability advisory, corporate finance, or impact finance.
• Deep expertise in sustainability strategy, ESG integration, sustainable finance, blended finance, and impact investing.
• Proven ability to develop and scale advisory services, securing corporate and financial institution clients.
• Strong P&L management experience with a track record of driving revenue growth.
• Extensive networks across corporates, investors, DFIs, financial institutions, and regulators in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
• Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, environmental science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with international sustainability frameworks (e.g., TCFD, ISSB, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, SDG-aligned impact measurement).

Additional Desired Qualifications

• Fluency in one or more Southeast Asian languages (Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, Malay, or Tagalog).
• Experience structuring sustainability-linked financing, carbon finance solutions, or blended finance transactions.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced environments.
