Job description

Title: Senior Java Developer
Work Location: Remote
Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)

Job duties:

Strong Java & AWS cloud experience
Designs, develops, modifies, debugs, deploys, and evaluates complex Java/AWS applications.
Upgrade the web applications to use the latest versions of the Java (version 17 or higher).
Addressing web applications security vulnerabilities.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Strong Java programming language experience.
Strong experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Experience with JBOSS & Tomcat application servers.
Python and/or Node experience a plus.
Experience using Docker.
Experience with AWS services: VPC, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Athena, Glue, CodePipeline and ECS/Fargate.
Experience in writing Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation, CDK (Cloud Development Kit) and Terraform.
Knowledgeable in SQL and DDL in DB2 and SQLServer platforms. Experience Implementing stored procedures and effectively writing advanced queries.
Ability to perform source code management and application build and deployment using tools like Git, Maven, and Shell scripts.
Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of how system management actions affect other systems, system users and dependent/related functions.
Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Knowledge of the design, development and application of technology and systems to meet business needs.
Experience in cross platform solutions which utilize a variety of technologies and experience in identifying and documenting the best technical solution for each business requirement.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and translate complex business rules into technical designs.
