SBA Construction Coordinator works closely with relationship managers, portfolio managers and SBA closing team to ensure construction/leasehold conditions are met prior to closing.  Monitors and maintains post-closing disbursements, while adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures of the SBA. 

Work Model: Remote

Construction Loan Support & Servicing

  • Creates, manages, and monitors draw process and procedures for all SBA construction and leasehold improvement projects
  • Reviews pre-closing due diligence as it directly relates to project needs. Including, but not limited to:  construction contracts, plans & specs, budgets and timelines.
  • Responsible for submission of thorough and accurate draw packages for approval and funding.
  • Ensures all necessary project inspections are scheduled, and inspection reports are received, reviewed and filed appropriately.
  • Works with title companies and/or the bank’s third-party monitoring companies to fund approved draw requests, collect lien waivers, endorsements and certifications as needed.
  • Manages disbursements for equipment purchases, inventory, soft costs and working capital as required.
  • Works with portfolio manager to memorialize the loan file as material changes arise (i.e. reallocation of use of proceeds, extension of interest only period, etc.)

Customer Service

  • Serves as an essential point of contact post-closing, for the borrower, general contractor and third-party monitoring company.
  • Creates a sense of ownership with each project, while presenting a joint-effort approach to the deal for borrower.

Position Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in SBA Lending required
  • 1+ year construction draw experience required
  • Basic knowledge of construction contracts
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills and ability to set goals, prioritize work and handle interruptions while maintaining focus on results and quality.
  • Ability to identify and define problems, collects and evaluates data, draw valid conclusions and make sound independent judgements and decisions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Proficient in Excel
