Position Summary
The Software QA and DevOps Manager leads both our Quality Assurance (QA) and DevOps teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products and robust infrastructure management. This role is responsible for developing and implementing QA processes, managing test strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance software reliability and performance. Additionally, this role requires strong expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline implementation, cloud infrastructure management, and automation.
Essential Functions and Duties
Quality Assurance Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee software testing processes, standards, and best practices.
- Manage and mentor the QA team, providing leadership and professional development.
- Collaborate with software development, product management, and other teams to define quality standards and ensure compliance.
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual and automated testing.
- Implement automation frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze test results, track defects, and work closely with development teams for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, security guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage outsourced QA engineers, ensuring effective communication, alignment on quality expectations, and timely deliverables.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and performance evaluation of outsourced testing teams.
- Conduct security testing, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and secure code analysis to ensure applications meet security requirements.
- Continuously identify areas for process improvements and implement innovative testing methodologies.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in software testing.
DevOps Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing proactive measures to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment strategies and reduce time-to-market.
- Manage cloud-based infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Establish and enforce security best practices within the DevOps pipeline, including vulnerability scanning and access controls.
- Oversee incident response and disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new DevOps tools and methodologies to improve system efficiency.
- Lead and mentor the DevOps team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred.
Required Knowledge:
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of security testing tools and methodologies, such as penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and secure coding practices.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and DevOps practices.
Required Experience:
- Minimum seven (7) years [eleven (11) for non-degreed candidates] of experience in software quality assurance or development
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline implementation and cloud infrastructure management.
- Experience with testing web applications, mobile applications, and APIs.
- Proven experience managing outsourced engineering teams, including vendor evaluation and performance tracking.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with performance testing, security testing, and load testing tools.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Working condition include normal office setting.
