Job description

This is a full time position located from a remote office anywhere in the country with a requirement of up to 50% national travel in accordance with public health guidelines.

We anticipate three main priorities in our learning across the next few years: 1) AI/data-driven instruction 2) the intersection of curriculum-based professional learning/HQIM and strategic staffing and 3) principal role clarity. 

Critical to our learning and innovation, we seek a Senior Director, Custom Strategy Consulting to own  the development of new service lines specific to the intersection of strategic staffing and CBPL/HQIM, manage a portfolio of consulting clients across a variety of topics and foci, and support the development of direction and strategy for our innovation. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with consulting partners across math and ELA specific contracts that require flexibility in thinking from the highest balcony level to the in the weeds details. Reporting to the Executive Director of Engagement, the Senior Director, Custom Strategy Consulting will design and deliver consulting projects, solutions, and service model prototypes outside of Instruction Partners’ core services.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Innovation + Service Line Design 

  • Design and deliver projects related to CBPL/HQIM and strategic staffing aligned to Instruction Partners learning agenda, leading sustainable service design along the way
  • Lead organizational learning and translation of learnings in CBPL/HQIM integration with strategic staffing into Instruction Partner’s core services
  • Serve as the owner of CBPL/HQIM integration with strategic staffing projects within the Instruction Partners learning system, working closely with the Measurement and Evaluation team to develop appropriate learning questions, measurement plans, and aligned evidence
  • Support design fundraising needs by writing/contributing to grant proposals and other grant updates
Consulting Partner Delivery:
  • Design and deliver user-centered, content-specific, cross-cutting, and simple solutions to challenges outside of core service offerings, both independently and in collaboration with other Custom Strategy Consulting team members towards agreed upon outcomes that advance the needs of our students in priority groups
  • Codify learnings from projects to share across the organization and inform ongoing organizational development and learning, in partnership with direct reports

Business Development: 

  • Support the Executive Director, Engagement in conversation with potential partners, following up on relationships, and finalizing project scopes of work 
  • Leverage external networks across the country to build relationships and identify new partners for Custom Strategy Consulting team 
  • Manage a portfolio of continuing and new custom partners, including ongoing relationship building and cultivation. 

Required Candidate Qualifications:

  • A commitment to developing and applying anti-racist leadership through intentional engagement, reflection, and feedback 
  • 12+ years of K-12 education experience including  3+ years of system-level instructional leadership, organizational leadership, or consulting experience
  • Experience leading instructional improvement for a school, charter system, program, district, and/or state partnership with a track record of improving student achievement or program outcomes
  • Experience in education consulting at a senior level, including experience in product and service design, including creating nuanced approaches and solutions in highly ambiguous environments
  • An expert at relationship building and cultivation who leverages great communication skills to develop quick rapport and build trust across lines of difference. 
  • Demonstrated success navigating and managing complex and nuanced relationships, including the ability to motivate and influence decisions of partners’ senior leadership
  • The ability to critically assess challenges, center students in priority groups, and identify innovative, effective solutions in ambiguous situations
  • Passionate about learning, with high-comfort in learning about new content areas, design frameworks, and approaches to the work
  • Ability to travel across the country up to 50% of the time

Compensation:

The salary for this role is $143,750.00.
