Job description

Utilidata is a fast-growing energy technology company using distributed artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate the clean energy transition and better serve utility customers. As the electric grid becomes more complex with the rapid increase of electric vehicles, distributed solar, batteries, heat pumps and extreme weather, utilities need real-time visibility of grid conditions. Utilidata’s distributed AI platform, called Karman, is powered by our custom NVIDIA module and will transform the way utility companies operate with real-time visibility at the grid edge to better utilize customer energy resources, reduce power outages, and enable quicker storm recovery.

Our team is seeking a talented and experienced Director/VP, Solutions to grow our Solutions team. As the Director/VP, Solutions at Utilidata, you will play a critical role in leading a dynamic team that works directly with utility customers, develops innovative R&D projects and demonstration projects, and drives new product priorities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Emerging Applications, and Communications—to ensure our product creates value for customers and supports market expansion. This role will report to our President & Chief Operating Officer. We are looking for candidates who are collaborative, adaptive and mission-driven. This is a remote position based in the United States. Candidates will be expected to collaborate cross-functionally with remote teams based across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Provide visionary leadership to the Solutions team, ensuring alignment with Utilidata’s strategic objectives and a high level of team performance
  • Work side-by-side with utility customers to ensure they derive maximum value from the Karman platform
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage sandbox environments and demonstration projects to showcase platform capabilities
  • Develop and communicate new product priorities to the Product and Emerging Applications teams based on customer feedback and market trends
  • Support the exploration of new markets and strategic partnerships to drive business growth
  • Partner with Communications to translate insights and project outcomes into compelling external messaging and marketing materials
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Proven track record in a leadership role within the utility and electricity sector, with a deep understanding of industry challenges and opportunities and significant experience working directly with utility customers
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and manage cross-functional teams to deliver strategic outcomes
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in market exploration, product marketing, and developing go-to-market strategies
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in the energy sector, such as renewable energy integration, grid modernization, or smart metering
  • Track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of time
Enhanced Qualifications (Nice to Have) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree
Salary Range: $160,000 to $225,000 depending on experience

Location: This position can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States.
