Eligibility Requirements

  • Our internship program is remote based; however, the intern must be in the United States.
  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited college or university during the internship.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (based on a 4.0 scale)
  • Available to work full time (40 hours/week) for the entire program (June 9th - August 29th).
  • Required to undergo a pre-employment background check.

Working closely with the department, the Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Explore and learn about Somos’ product portfolio to provide project support for such initiatives
  • Assist with project and program support of complex strategic initiatives
  • Approach project/program management role through as strategic lens to ensure focus of team on value outcomes
  • Ability to engage and empower cross-functional team members to leverage their expertise and insights to deliver value
  • Learn how to curate the best ideas, hypothesize their value, and implement the most promising of them
  • Curate ideas to support the development items of the Capstone project
  • Collaborate with other interns to effectively prioritize items needed for Capstone execution
  • Support cross-functional team in execution of the capstone
  • Other tasks as assigned

Major Initiatives

  • Participate in overall strategic initiative discussions for current and future projects
  • Assist team with support on strategic initiative programs and processes as needed
  • Along with intern peers, present the Sprint Planning of Capstone
  • Along with intern peers, present the Demos of Capstone
  • Incorporate the feedback from all mentors as work on initiative to ensure value and meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Along with intern peers, present the final Capstone project

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong quantitative analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management applications
  • Willingness to assist in variety of project/program related tasks
  • Ability to act as customer advocate in cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects
  • Team oriented attitude, where no job is too big or too small
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter with ability to deliver results
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Collaboration and facilitation skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a small, fast-paced environment
  • Passion for consumer empowering technology

Preferred Qualifications & Skills 

  • Working toward a degree in project/program management, project management, strategic operation, business management or computer engineering.
  • Knowledge of global products, product life cycles, and understanding the needs of customers
  • Experience applying agile methodology in managing technical projects
  • Exposure to Agile Methodology in software development
  • Exposure to Design Thinking
  • Knowledge and experience working in the following application tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Mural, Salesforce)
