Job description

The Network Administrator (FLSA Exempt role) provides network support services to help meet DAS Health organizational goals and industry standards. This individual requires a strong educational background in telecommunications and network technology, hardware, software, and services to ensure proactive monitoring and maintenance of client network environments.

Key responsibilities include network alert handling as well as incident and task triage for the Network queues. The Network Administrator will be mentored by Network Engineers and will be expected to expand their skills to support and troubleshoot complex WAN, LAN and wireless networks.

Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for incident triage and escalation to Network Engineering.
  • Provide day-to-day support for DAS Health’s and client networks.
  • Produce and analyze client reporting to identify trends and proactively address issues before they become outages.
  • Work closely with the Service Desk and Field in the support of client networks.
  • Analyze network information to determine, recommend and plan network troubleshooting to maximize network uptime.
  • Maintain availability of the WAN/LAN using various monitoring and management tools and work with appropriate carrier/vendor when required.
  • Will occasionally travel to client locations to troubleshoot, convert or deploy client networks.
  • Will occasionally travel to client locations to perform field engineering tasks in support of client implementations.
  • Proactively seek out education and skill development in Networking technologies.
  • Works collaboratively with all engineering teams to centralize and standardize processes.
  • Demonstrate a high level of vendor management skills.
  • Document all changes to network configuration and procedures.
  • Standardizes processes to drive automation and facilitate rapid return to service.
  • Completes client projects promptly, as assigned by management.
  • Create, manage, and maintain process documentation.
  • Other duties, as required.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s in Information Technology or a related degree or equivalent work experience that includes network administration.
  • Cisco CCNA or an advanced networking certification is preferred.
  • 2+ years of IT experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a related position preferably with a healthcare and/or information technology services organization a plus.
  • Experience or training in LAN/WAN/IP Voice technologies and architecture, including network Operating Systems, network management systems, and application protocols.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with business and technology groups, as well as a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent time and task management skills.
  •  Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability to set and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers, managers, and clients.
  • Expectation of ongoing, active knowledge and participation in Network Engineering related topics, best practices, and external organizations; demonstrated keen interest, knowledge, and communication of the latest developments in IT infrastructure and applications and their potential security implications and related exposures.
  • Must possess a positive, self-confident, and professional disposition.
  • Self-starter who quickly grasps delegated tasks and requires minimal supervision.
