Summary:
Under general direction of a Project Director or a senior-level Operations Director, responsible for the management and analytical design of one or more components of the overall project, and the execution of detailed project plans that relate to assignments established in the project charter. Assignments may span one or more projects that can range in size, complexity and cross functional involvement. The projects will be for ABC Drug Company, subsidiaries or its trading partners, and can include new system and/or process implementations across multiple sites.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Displays high competency in project management, working in a fast-paced and complex environment, execution of large projects, and working under multiple and competing deadlines.
Leads and directs projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration and interaction with project sponsor and team
Responsible for all project management deliverables; scope, schedule, and communication plan
Coaches, monitors and communicates the progress of project delivery and ensures timely and effective communication of project status in terms of forecast, schedule and assessment of risk/issues
Calculates critical path of project schedule(s)
Creating and tracking project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
Align resource allocation to ensure proper project prioritization
Continually reviews and reevaluates available resources to determine project resource surplus and shortfalls
Negotiates and influences cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing levels are engaged and maintained throughout the life of the project
Proactively anticipates project risks and scope creep early and often to foresee potential problems and presents solutions to management
Lead team meetings to review current projects, strategize new projects, determine priorities and establish deadlines
Adheres to all project management process guidelines and procedures
Contributes and participates in continual process improvement for the project management team
Conduct project post-mortems and create lessons learned to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Identify and document opportunities for: efficiency and process improvements; Lessons learned from previous rollouts and application to future deployments or/or operational support
Independently manage projects and produce reports as assigned by leadership
Uses judgment and discretion in escalating issues to leadership
Requires training and experience in fields such as business administration, engineering, accountancy, sales, marketing, logistics, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education
Normally requires a minimum of five (5) years directly related and progressively responsible experience
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience leading projects related to warehouse operations, warehouse design, warehouse and business systems, process improvement and standardization, engineered labor standards, and transportation
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to communicate (and work) effectively with people from different technical and business backgrounds, acting as a liaison, understanding and appreciating different perspectives and translating into terms necessary for any group or individual to understand
Ability to lead dynamically and energize work teams to learn and apply new skills and techniques to respond to business needs
Good analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
Strong presentation skills; ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and establishes understanding for technical and non-technical audiences
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, Access databases, Word and AutoCad
Prior experience in either consulting, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen is beneficial
Strong interpersonal skills
