Role Overview:

The Security Engineer will be responsible for strengthening Fluent Trade Technologies' security posture by identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security controls, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The candidate will work closely with the security team, developers, and infrastructure engineers to proactively mitigate security risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform security assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing of infrastructure, applications, and networks.
  • Implement and maintain security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, DLP, etc.).
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support incident response and forensic investigations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to ensure secure configurations and practices.
  • Monitor security logs and respond to threats in real-time.
  • Research emerging threats and propose mitigation strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Linux Security Expertise: Strong knowledge of Linux OS (not as an admin, but with the ability to utilize Linux tools for security analysis and auditing).
  • Log Analysis & Auditing: Experience in searching and pinpointing security issues using Linux-based tools and logs.
  • SELinux (preferred): Understanding of SELinux policies and their impact on system security.
  • Security Tools: Familiarity with tools commonly used by white-hat hackers and penetration testers (Nmap, Metasploit, Wireshark, OSSEC, etc.).
  • Technical expertise: Hands-on experience in network security, application security.
  • Penetration testing: Ability to conduct and interpret security assessments.
  • Programming/Scripting: Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and security tasks.
  • Certifications (preferred but not mandatory): OSCP, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent.
  • Communication skills: Ability to document findings clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
