We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance and accounting team and contribute to the continued growth of our innovative company.

Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting various accounting functions within the organization.  The individual in this role will play a crucial role in closing the books on a monthly basis and preparing account reconciliations.  Moreover, this position requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles and standards, as well as being detail-oriented with a desire to continuously improve our accounting processes and reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant financial regulations.
  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Revenue Recognition: Implement and manage the company’s revenue recognition processes in compliance with ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) and other applicable standards.
  • Month-End/Year-End Close: Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is accurately captured and reported.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights into financial performance and potential risks.
  • Audit Support: Work with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process, providing requested documentation and supporting information for audits and financial reviews.
  • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure proper tax filings, including sales tax, income tax, and other relevant taxes, are accurate and timely.
  • Technology and Software Oversight: Utilize financial software tools and systems, ensuring the proper integration of financial data across the organization’s technology platforms.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, and management, to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses to assist in executive decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role, ideally within the technology or SaaS industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intaact) and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and tax compliance.
  • Solid understanding of technology-related accounting processes, including SaaS, subscriptions, and recurring revenue models.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Brings a desire to constantly learn and continuously improve.
  • Have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and cloud-based financial platforms.
  • Knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) is a plus.
  • Experience in the technology startup environment or working in a private equity environment is a plus.
